Welcome to the brand new blog series from LaxRoads of America called “WHOosiers”. This is just the first post in what will be a season long series where you can meet many of the different personalities on the IU Lacrosse team. Without further ado…

First up on WHOosiers, our goalie out of the Lone Star State. You may have seen him on ESPN, and he’s the future President of the United States of America (you heard it here first): Ward Weber.

Give me the essentials, like every conversation freshman year.
Ward Weber, Junior, Political Science, Dallas TX.

What have you been up to this summer?
I’ve been interning at Dallas City Hall in the Dallas Mayor’s Office. I work first hand with the Mayor’s Chief-of-Staff, other staff members and with the Mayor himself. I help with research for speeches and press conferences, prepare agendas for city council meeting along with other fun intern stuff.

What has been the highlight of your summer so far? Is there anything you are particularly looking forward to?
I’ve been planning a huge Dallas function where the last 4 elected mayors will be together on a panel speaking with one another, I am looking forward to the event which is tonight and will be covered by the press and media, it will be cool to see all my work in action and covered by such a large local and national audience. One of my highlights was seeing some research I did on a speech be used by the Mayor and then quoted in the Dallas Morning News.

What was your favorite moment from last season?
Favorite moment of last season was playing at home in front of Mizzou and seeing all of our friends come out and support us.

Is lacrosse a part of your summer? How are you preparing for next season?
Lacrosse is a part of my summer, I play on a summer league team here in Dallas which is a lot of fun. I also have been giving goalie lessons to some of the local kids around Dallas.

What are you most excited about for the upcoming season?
I most look forward to seeing all the guys back. Also while I know former goalie Peter Moore will be missed I am excited for the opportunity to try and fill his shoes and work to be named the starting goalie for IU.

Digging the hair there Ward, phenomenal. Let me know in the comments what you all think of the series. Is the name punny enough for you? Less than two months until B-Town, we’re counting the days.
