WHOosiers Summer Edition: Bobby Steinman

0 - Published August 4, 2013 by in Featured, Interviews

Welcome back to part 2 of the WHOosiers blog series. Throughout the season we will be highlighting different players on the team to learn more about the men behind IU Lacrosse. Next up is one of our LSMs, sophomore Bobby Steinman.

Who are you good sir? What words do you live by?
My name is Bobby Steinman, class of 2016 marketing major in THE Kelley School of Business. I grew up in Fort Lauderdale, Florida but recently moved out west to the Malibu area of California.

Motto: “WAAAAAARD” *in my finest Haggerty voice*

What has been the highlight of your summer so far?
Miami Heat. Back-to-Back. Enough said. (Editors Note: It took all of my self-control not to omit this. NBA Champion 2014 – Your Indiana Pacers. Quote me.)

So other than wearing way too much white clothing, what else have you been up to?
I work an internship at Loyola Marymount University in the sports marketing department 3 days a week, basically as the office pledge. Other than that I’ve been hitting the weight room and working on my golf game almost every day (watch out Ward and Lance).

Look back on last season for a second, what memory comes to mind first?
My favorite moment last season was 100% our win against Mizzou. They were coming off of a great season and we were coming off a sub-.500 season so we were the heavy underdogs. To top it off we played probably our best game of the season in front of hundreds of our classmates and friends at Evan Williams at IU. The fans really gave us the edge and I enjoyed catching a glimpse of the signs they made.

How have you made lacrosse a part of your summer?
Lacrosse is a pivotal part of my summer, as it has been for years now. I wanted my biggest improvements going in to next year to be my strength and quickness so I have been spending countless hours lifting and doing foot work drills.

What are you most excited about for the upcoming season of IU Lacrosse?
I am most excited about beating Purdue next season. They brought our MCLA national tournament plans to a halt so we are definitely going to come out hard next year. We’ll be looking forward to the rematch.

Instagram worthy picture by Bobby from Venice Beach. Well played.

Good stuff there Bob. Hopefully the good readers of LaxRoads will forgive you for rooting for… them. In the spirit of that I’ll go ahead and leave this here.

Inspirational. Let me know in the comments what you think of that insightful glimpse into Lebron’s career. Until next time folks.

Disclaimer: Yes, I am completely biased against the Heat. Sorry Bob, you knew this was coming.
