Harlem Shake 2

The IU Lacrosse Harlem Shake

We did something a little different at practice Sunday night.

Is this a lacrosse drill? Maybe not but we definitely enjoyed it. A lot of great performances were put in by the boys for this video. A couple of my personal favorites are middie Dave Haggerty (#14) in the front, and goalie Peter Moore on the very left side with a low key great performance. The key to making this video was simple: heart, hustle, and having zero shame. It paid off. The video has absolutely exploded. We broke 23 thousand views on Vimeo in one day, and now we’re on Youtube. Twitter and Facebook went bananas garnering attention from big names like LaxPlayground and ChronicHoosier. A couple of us even went to get food last night after practice and ran into some other students talking about the video. It’s awesome to see the team getting some attention from the IU and lacrosse communities.

Now it’s up to us to keep that attention by performing on the field. Video views and extra recognition are always great for the program and fun for us players. But we are still focused on our main goal, and that is to win lacrosse games. The journey starts this Sunday with our season opener against Robert Morris (IL). The game has been finalized for 1:00 P.M. at Chatard High School in Indianapolis. If you are in the area come out and watch some great lacrosse.

Follow @LaxRoadsAmerica for updates, I will be tweeting leading up to and after the game this weekend. Also check out @IULax for team news as well. We’ll see you on Sunday!
